The Business Model Alchemist

If you want to break the rules of your industry, I guess you have to know the rules. To take a systematic approach I strongly recommend listening to Alexander Osterwalder.

Alexander Osterwalder has said and written a lot about business models for several years, and he has truly become one of my gurus - no my guru - in the field.

However, I have needed a practical tool for implementing his model without reading too much in advance. I therefore successfully created it myself and have used it for a few years now under the name "Business Model Construction Tool".

Mr. Osterwalder must have seen the same need and with The Business Model Canvas and the book Business Model Generation he has truly come up with a very useful tool and guide. In some ways even better than my solution :-)

I won't hesitate to recommend the 72 pages preview of the book. Read that and listen to at least the first 25-30 minutes of his lecture below. Then you are ready to develop innnovative business models.
